Your Haircare Tips

It's winter again!!

Be Sure Your Hair Is Properly Moisturized
Dry hair is unhealthy and can lead to problems like split ends. Some people are lucky enough not to have dry hair naturally, but they are in the minority. Look for products that contain jojoba oil. Adding Jojoba Oil to your skin cream can help improve skin tone. It is a natural emollient, making the skin softer, cleaner, and all around healthier. These properties make it ideal for use on the scalp to clear away build-up that can inhibit healthy hair growth. In addition to helping relieve dry, itchy, and flaky scalp, jojoba oil can also nourish and condition hair follicles, thus preventing or repairing damaged hair.

Take appropriate measures for healthy hair
Appropriate haircare measures should be taken on a regular basis everyday in the winter season. This is especially true if you live in northern states like New York, Illinois etc. If you won’t follow the tips provided below to prevent your hair from the damage associated with cold climate, you can get noticeable bald areas on your head after winter.

·  Your hair will get drier in winter. So use a good conditioner weekly and crème hairdress daily. Applying twice and thrice a week would be smart idea. Cream hairdress works better for fine hair because it will not weigh the hair down like oil will.  For dry scalp you can try using scalp treatments they contain ingredients to aid in relieving dry scalp and controlling flakes. They also condition and add shine but use this sparingly as it may make the hair too greasy and limp. Brands to try: Keracare, Design Essentials.

· Never, ever, go outside in the cold with your hair wet. It can get easily freeze when it is wet and hence the breakage is obvious.

·  The use of hot items on hair like blow-dryers and curling irons must be minimized. Your hair is already getting dryer and dryer; you would not want to give it another reason. This can also be true for non-winter months.

·  Remember to wrap/cover your hair with a satin scarf or bonnet at night while sleeping/lounging especially if you sleep on a cotton pillow case. This will help your style last longer and reduce breakage caused by the holes present in cotton pillow cases that can trap hair strands. You can also try: sleeping on a satin pillow case.
